Masanori Takaku has substantial experience in portfolio management and risk management in both buy-side and sell-side, in addition to establishing businesses across Japan and other APAC markets.

Masanori was the Founding Member of the Investment Department of Mizuho Securities, where he led the investment bank’s venture capital investments and financial technology accelerator program. Previously, Masanori was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Horizon Asset, a UK-headquartered hedge fund, for six years, where he managed a L/S equity portfolio and headed a team of analysts. Masanori started his career as a proprietary trader at BarCap Asia and Citi Tokyo, managing event-driven strategies in M&A, index rebalancing, and fundamental L/S equities.

Masanori graduated from the University of Tokyo with a major in Chemistry.
